This book is a condensed version of the know-how of the many roasteries that Scott Rao has worked on. Compared to the recently released Best Practices, this book focuses on the basics, and is the perfect resource for learning about the roasting practices of roasters on the West Coast in particular. The content of this book is almost completely different from that of Best Practices, so I recommend getting both books.
